Flexible Treatment Plans

14-Day Treatment Programme

Our 14-day programme allows clients to take their first steps into recovery and begin the healing process:

Key Features:

  • Life Story Exercise: Clients receive a life story prompt to complete and share during group sessions. This helps build trust and offers an opportunity for peers and facilitators to provide psychoeducational feedback.
  • Holistic Therapies: We introduce clients to mindfulness, meditation, and other holistic treatments to help manage stress and emotions.
  • Therapeutic Focus: During their stay, clients engage in two individual therapy sessions that help them explore the underlying causes of their addiction and begin to develop healthy coping mechanisms.
  • Relapse Prevention: Clients receive focused support on relapse prevention and introductions to 12-step facilitation to prepare for long-term sobriety after leaving Abbington House.
28-Day Treatment Programme

Our 28-day programme is designed to give clients the time and space they need to make meaningful changes in their lives:

Key Features:

  • Comprehensive 12-Step Introduction: Clients are guided through the first three steps of the 12-step process, which forms the foundation for their ongoing recovery journey.
  • Peer and Individual Therapy: Clients participate in weekly one-to-one therapy sessions and group therapy, using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing to promote behavioural change.
  • Trauma-Informed Care: While trauma cannot always be fully explored in a short stay, we ensure clients receive support for ongoing therapy beyond Abbington House. We also provide guidance on building a support network.
  • Graduation Ceremony: Upon successful completion of the programme, clients are celebrated with a graduation ceremony, involving their families and loved ones.
28-Day Plus Long-Term Treatment Programme

For those who require extended care, our 28-day plus programme offers an in-depth and personalised approach:

Key Features:

  • Holistic Healing and Deep Trauma Work: The longer duration allows us to engage in trauma-informed therapy, working closely with clients on the deep-rooted issues behind their addiction.
  • Second and Third Stage Therapy: As clients move through the stages of their recovery, they will gradually be given more independence, including the ability to attend outside therapy sessions and family visits.
  • Continued Peer and Individual Support: Clients will continue to receive weekly one-to-one therapy, along with peer support through group sessions. This reinforces positive behaviour changes and strengthens their recovery network.
  • Tailored Treatment Plans: As each client progresses, their treatment plan will be adapted to suit their evolving needs, from 12-step facilitation to alternative therapies such as EMDR for trauma.
