Greg Georghiou

Greg is a recovered addict and has been providing support to people with the illness of addiction for many years.

He originally identified the Abbington House site in Stevenage and set to work on establishing local authority and Government support to secure the appropriate planning to develop the site.

His years of property development experience ensured that the renovation and conversion of what was the Abbington Hotel were competed on schedule.

Greg now provides ongoing support to the Abbington House management team.

Michael Garnham

Michael and his team are in the front line. They are the first point of contact for all those that call Abbington House looking help and support. He is passionate about winning the hearts and minds of those who are suffering. Michael is a recovered addict of 26 years and has a vast experience of the recovery journey.

He is proficient at matching client needs with the right treatment and has the ability to quickly win the confidence of those he helps. It is vital that addicts immediately understand that they are not alone – that recovery is possible. This is the role of the admissions team that Michael leads.

Michael is also a qualified therapist and has had his own private practice for any years. He has worked in some of the UK’s most successful addiction treatment centres for over 18 years. His broad experience helps to gel the Abbington House team together.

Claire White

Claire has a background in business administration and has worked in both the private and charity sectors. She is also a holistic therapy practitioner. All this experience is coupled with her belief in the power of social connection. She believes fundamentally in the profound transformation that can be achieved when the right support is provided.

All this puts her in the great position to contribute at Abbington House. Believing that everyone can grow and change with the right therapy and the presence of genuine care, Claire plays an important part in the Abbington House environment – one that helps clients and families through their own transformative experiences.

Clinical Administrator

Claire has a background in business administration and has worked in both the private and charity sectors. She is also a holistic therapy practitioner. All this experience is coupled with her belief in the power of social connection. She believes fundamentally in the profound transformation that can be achieved when the right support is provided.

All this puts her in the great position to contribute at Abbington House. Believing that everyone can grow and change with the right therapy and the presence of genuine care, Claire plays an important part in the Abbington House environment – one that helps clients and families through their own transformative experiences.

Aura Horta

Aura has spent over 25 years working in both a medical and managerial capacity. She has
been employed in various private clinics and hospitals, specialising in a teaching and
operational capacity.

She has significant experience of running multi-disciplinary teams and has operated as a CQC Registered Manager in 3 facilities, providing reflective practice, clinical supervision and coaching.

Aura’s wealth of experience will ensure the safe and effective delivery of Abbington House’s client services and experience.

Aura Horta

Aura has spent over 25 years working in both a medical and managerial capacity. She has
been employed in various private clinics and hospitals, specialising in a teaching and

She has significant experience of running multi-disciplinary teams and has operated as a CQC Registered Manager in 3 facilities, providing reflective practice, clinical supervision and coaching.

Michael Williams

Michael, known by many as Mikey, is a recovered addict who has been operating for over a decade in the addiction treatment field. He has been a BSc level addictions therapist since 2012 and has worked in a number of facilities in both the private and public sectors. He is currently completing the
final year of an MSc Master’s degree in addiction psychology at South Bank University.

Mikey is passionate about delivering effective, evidence-based addiction treatments and is responsible for the creation of Abbington House’s multi-disciplined recovery program. He fundamentally believes in providing addicts and alcoholics with the life tools they require to live drug and alcohol free.
