Abbington House celebrated our Community Christmas Event in December, marking another huge milestone for many of our ex-clients. A huge thank you to all who attended. We are so proud of you all.
Christmas can be a particularly difficult time for people in recovery. For many, it brings memories of past struggles and periods of isolation. At Abbington House, we recognise the importance of community and continued connection beyond treatment, especially during the festive season.
That ethos was at the heart of the Abbington Community Christmas Event 2025, a special gathering created exclusively for our recovery community.
A Space for Laughter and Meaningful Connection

A Space for Laughter and Meaningful Connection
For many attendees, the event offered a chance to enjoy the festive period alongside people who understand the recovery journey, without pressure or expectation. Simply offering a space to connect and feel part of a community during a time of year that can otherwise feel isolating.
Celebrating Ongoing Recovery
Throughout the evening, we enjoyed food, conversation, music and moments of reflection; our community were able to celebrate progress and support one another.
Seeing the Abbington Community, coming together at different stages of recovery, was a powerful reminder that the journey doesn’t end at discharge. It continues through peer support and ongoing engagement with a recovery-focused community.
A Special Thank you to the Abbington Community Team
Members of the Abbington House team attended the event, reinforcing the message that recovery is rooted in connection, a message that is central to our ethos.
Not for ourselves alone are we born.
A special thank you to Chris and Ruth for all of your hard work and dedication in organising.
