Our Centre

Abbington House is a private residential rehab in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, where treatment takes place in a calm, contained setting.

The house is intentionally small, allowing care to stay personal. From the moment someone arrives, there is space to settle, steady themselves, and begin again without noise or pressure.

Treatment takes place within a residential rehab programme at Abbington House, where the environment supports people in stepping away from everyday pressures and focusing on recovery.

A Calm, Personal Setting

Abbington House is intentionally small. This allows us to keep care responsive and individual. Staff are able to notice changes, respond early, and build steady, trusting relationships that support recovery day by day.

Being a smaller residential setting also means people are not rushed through a system. Care is shaped around individual pace, needs, and circumstances.

Inside the Centre

The house is arranged to support everyday living in a way that feels manageable.

Bedrooms offer privacy and personal space. Shared areas provide room to sit, talk, or spend quiet time between structured sessions. The environment is kept calm and consistent, helping people feel grounded as they adjust to being in treatment.

If you would like to understand how the full residential programme works, including therapy and daily structure, you can read more about our residential rehab programme.

Clinical Support & Safety

As a residential setting, Abbington House provides structured, supervised care throughout the early stages of recovery, including medically supervised detox where appropriate.

Medical oversight is available on site, with care adapted to each individual and reviewed throughout their stay.

The focus is on safety, stability, and consistency.

Meals and Nutrition

Meals are prepared on site by Chef Marion, and shared in a communal dining space. Food is an important part of daily life at Abbington House, helping to restore routine and provide comfort during treatment.

Dietary needs and preferences are taken into account wherever possible, and mealtimes are kept calm and unhurried, offering a natural pause in the day. You can learn more about by visiting our food and nutrition page

Abbington Community – Staying Connected in Recovery

Our community events take place after treatment and are designed to help people stay connected, supported, and part of something ongoing in recovery. All members of our Community have given consent to share these photos, the privacy of our ex-residents and wider community is always respected.
