Gangani Thirimanne

  • I'm Gangani, the Registered Manager here at Abbington House.

Short Biography

I’ve worked in health and social care for over 22 years, including ten years as a registered manager.

I qualified in Leadership and Management for Care Services in 2011, and the years since have given me a strong foundation in leading high-quality care and supporting people through recovery.

Throughout my career, I’ve stayed committed to helping others, and I have a particular passion for supporting clients to find meaningful, lasting recovery.

The work hasn’t always been straightforward. The challenges I’ve faced along the way have given me a real understanding of how recovery can change someone’s life, and that understanding shapes how I approach the role now. I want clients to recognise their own strengths and rebuild with purpose and confidence.

My approach is rooted in empathy, honesty, and genuine care. I’m aware of how complicated this is, not just for the person in treatment, but for the family around them, and I try to create an environment where everyone feels respected, supported, and able to do the work.

I don’t see recovery as simply overcoming something. I see it as building something sustainable, and I’m proud to be part of that here at Abbington House every day.
