My Recovery Story
I was ready to throw the towel in after 20 years in active addiction, but after two visits to a treatment centre, I got on my road to recovery. I am proud to be part of the strong team here and find it a pleasure to work alongside my colleagues. Working in support of others recovery has pushed me out of my comfort zone and I have embraced this wholeheartedly. I pride myself on being a practical problem solver, as well as supporting clients through their emotional journey as they work through our treatment plan. I like to think of myself as approachable, relatable, reliable and easy to talk to.
I am in training to be a counsellor in the modality of Gestalt Therapy and set to compete my studies in May 2028. I have completed a Level Three Counselling Skills Diploma (2023), an Advanced Counselling and Psychotherapy Course (2025) and I am working on a Level 4 Drug and Alcohol Counselling Course due to qualify by 2026.
What I bring to Abbington House and to our clients is an understanding and appreciation that there is nothing more heavy than pushing open the door to one’s own life, and there is great bravery in that. Recovery is possible!
